About Us

DeYonko Cola -Brown

“My love for early childhood is pure. There is nothing more rewarding than watching my caterpillars blossom into beautiful butterflies.”

Born in New Orleans, La, DeYonko was educated in the Jefferson Parish Public School System and attended Southern University at New Orleans where she received a degree in Elementary Education.

DeYonko taught in Jefferson Parish Public Schools before opening her very first Child Care center in 2005. Growing up, when playing school, she was always the teacher. She knew at an early age that she would be an exucator as she always admired her teachers when she was in school.

Our Mission

The mission of Children's World is to provide safe, affordable, high-quality child care for the students of Jefferson/Orleans Parishes and the community. In doing so, we support families in their efforts to reach their goals. Toddler College provides a cognitively based program for children ages six weeks to five years. We provided a home-like environment where children are encouraged to develop at their own pace. The staff is committed to the families we serve, providing support and encouragement.

Our Vision

Our vision is to be the recognized leader in providing the best care for infants, toddlers, preschool, and school age children. Known for our exceptional educational programs, talented teams, and community relationships, we pride ourselves on our unique blend of fun and learning in a safe and nurturing environment.

Our Philosophy

Diversity, warmth, happiness, love and total acceptance are integral components of Children's World philosophy. We strive to be a natural extension of your family, and believe every member of our community deserves a positive environment where they can feel right at home.

Our Core Values

Recognize that children are best understood and supported in the context of family, culture, community, and society. Respect the dignity, worth, and uniqueness of each individual (child, family member, and colleague). Respect diversity in children, families, and colleagues.
